A Day At Old Trafford

Bucket List? Hmm …no, no that’s not right. My son is only 17, so I don’t think we can call this tour of Old Trafford a “bucket list” item. A dream come true? Yes, definitely!

My son’s love for soccer started at the early age of 3, watching his big brother play from the side lines. His passion for the game continued, and at the age of 4 he hit the fields playing in recreational soccer provided by our local Soccer Club. Growing older he ventured past recreational soccer and started playing in the club leagues, and now plays for a club team and also his High School Varsity team. As much as he loves to play the game, he also loves to watch. His favorite soccer team is, and has always been, Manchester United. When he learned he would be traveling to Manchester, England to see a match and tour the stadium, well …as I’ve already said, a dream come true, and a pretty awesome Christmas present!!

For those of you who don’t know, Old Trafford is a football (Soccer to us Americans) stadium in Old Trafford, Greater Manchester, England, and the home of Manchester United Football Club. Old Trafford offers stadium tours where you can walk the tunnels, visit the dressing rooms, sit on your favorite players bench and get the overall behind the sidelines experience. If you are a fan, and have a chance to visit the area, I urge you to add this to your list of things to see and do.

What better place to stay then across the street from the stadium.

Arriving at the stadium – Great view!

Some pretty good seats for viewing the match, and comfy too!

Tyler’s favorite soccer player for Manchester and over all, Pogba. He was so excited to get this picture with Pogba’s jersey behind him.

Tyler standing by the statue outside Old Trafford depicting the United Trinity.
In association football, the United Trinity or the Holy Trinity refers to the Manchester United trio of George Best, Denis Law, and Sir Bobby Charlton, who helped United become the first ever English club team to win the European Cup in 1968.

A great match by Manchester United and a great tour of Old Trafford. Seeing my son happy makes me one happy mom. Today my heart is full!

Until next time …happy travels!
