Being A Mom

Today is Mother’s Day, my day, for I am a Mom. I have the most amazing, rewarding and hardest job on the planet.  Being a Mom means so much to me.  From the very first moment that I saw that little face, to the first step, to graduation day and everything in between, my life has never been the same.  One big roller coaster ride of sorts, full of fun, with ups and downs, tears and laughter and the knowledge that I would never want it any other way.

Mother's Day

I wear many hats as a Mom.  The Chief Executive Officer of my household.  I am also a personal chef, a mediator, an administrative assistant, a housekeeper, a banker and finance manager, a taxi driver, a judge, a teacher and a friend.  Each one of these hats is an honor and pleasure to wear and I do so proudly.

Being a Mom means giving up things and making sacrifices, it means always putting your children first.  Being a Mom takes maturity.  You have to be mature enough to be able to do that, to put yourself aside and do what is best for your children.  It is a selfless position that requires patience and time and more patience.

To be a Mom means I am always at work and will never retire.  I gladly accept this as it also means a life full of priceless rewards; benefits and pay in the form of love and happiness, pride and joy. Being a Mom means I have the best job ever.

Here’s to being a Mom!  🙂

Happy Mother’s Day to all you Mom’s out there, Dad’s who play the role as Mom, all you step Mom’s and Guardian’s …take a bow!  Today is for you!
